Strong Roots

Sessions

How to attend

Anyone who is interested in having counselling can get in touch with us. Individuals can also be be referred by local organisations such as the NHS, Norwich Social Services, Age UK, MIND, Shelter and others. There is no upper or lower age limit.

The first step is to make contact with our Co-ordinator and counsellor, Lucy, to arrange an exploratory session on site so that the person concerned can decide whether Strong Roots is for them. One-to-one and/or sometimes group sessions are on offer in order to meet individual needs.

A one-to-one session lasts an hour. The length of a group session will last according to numbers and need. Confidentiality is respected at all times.

What happens in a session

Lucy welcomes you and invites you to say whether you want to talk and/or do some gardening or some creative activity. Some people want to talk whilst others might change how they spend their time during the session. It is important that people feel comfortable and accepted however they feel at the time.

People are asked to bring their own refreshments to safeguard their own and others’ health and safety .
